A taste of Norway

At the beginning of March, my mother told me she had sent me a package from Norway. I was really excited, looking forward to get some Norwegian sweets like ‘lakris’. So I kept waiting for the package, knowing that it might take some time to reach Lebanon like three weeks or more.

The weeks went by, so the months. There was no package for me. So in the meantime we went to Norway, visiting our family, buying some Norwegian food and sweets, and then went back again to Lebanon with the Norwegian food in our bags. I had almost forgot about the package, then my friend called me: “I have a package for you!”. Two months later after she sent it, I opened the package from my mum with the local newspaper from the beginning of March, reading the ‘latest news’ from my hometown Lyngdal. What a beautiful and funny day!

So, if you’re in Lebanon now, missing the Norwegian food and coffee, well, you know where to find it!
