A glimps of Norway

Foto: Daniel Jan 09 2011

My name is Maria-Louise Bordvik. I’m living in a city called Mandal. It’s a small city at the southern part of Norway. Some people would say it is a beautiful place to live. The houses are small and white, made of old wood.  At summer time there are hundreds of tourists walking in the streets, taking pictures of these white buildings. You have to walk because the small streets, made of stone, are almost impossible to drive trough. But they like it. The locals and the tourists. It gives them time to take a good look at the houses. There’s no doubt these houses are a part of the local peoples pride and identity. And the tourists like it. They come back every year.

I wonder if the houses are symbols of ‘the easy life at the southern coast’? Shortly, its all about living in small white houses, in a small city close to the sea. I guess you could say that both tourists and locals find this way of living attractive and beautiful.
